Accessibility Statement

DIY Party Props wants every customer to be able to browse our designs, personalize a sign and place an order — including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification or other assistive technology.

The standard we work to

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We treat that as an ongoing target rather than a finished achievement: we test as we build, we fix what we find, and we welcome reports of anything we have missed.

What we have done

  • A “skip to content” link, labelled page landmarks and a single clear heading structure on each page.
  • Text and interface colours checked against WCAG AA contrast levels, including buttons and muted body text.
  • Anything that moves on its own — the announcement bar and the homepage image carousel — has a visible Pause control, and both stay still automatically if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • The full purchase flow can be completed with a keyboard, and product options are real labelled form controls rather than images.
  • Buttons and tap targets on mobile are sized to at least 44 × 44 pixels.
  • Descriptive alternative text on product photography and customer photos.
  • Form fields carry visible labels and are marked as required in a way assistive technology can announce.

Known limitations

We would rather tell you where we fall short than claim we are perfect:

  • Our checkout, payment and some embedded content are provided by Shopify and other third parties. We choose accessible options where we can, but we do not control that code directly.
  • Large collection pages currently offer sorting but only limited filtering, which makes browsing a big catalogue slower than it should be. We are working on this.
  • Some older product listings have longer, keyword-heavy titles that are tiring to hear read aloud.
  • We have not commissioned a formal third-party audit or certification, and we do not claim one.

Feedback

Reports from real visitors are the most useful thing we receive. If something here does not work with your assistive technology, we want to know — it goes straight onto our fix list.
